Well, things have kind of worked out!

My parents helped us get the Bravada back on the road, plus our loan went through on the Durango so for the first time in a looong time, we have two cars!  And can afford it!  Our boss has really come through and helped us out a lot lately!  He gave us $2000 to put a bigger down payment on the Durango.  Just gave it to us.  Didn't take it off of what he owes us or anything, just gave it to us.  Then the first week in October he was up here because the case that Daniel is working on kind of came to a head and he came to do the work on it.  I finally met this man!  He really does exsist, he's not just a voice on the phone!  So while he was here, I was out there helping do paperwork and stuff, and the last night he gave me a nice check again!  Really helped us get some bills paid and caught up so it was a big blessing!

We are kind of thinking and hoping to go to Texas over Christmas.  I hate it cause I hate to take Caleb away from my mom over a big holiday like that but at the same time, Daniel's brother has never even met Caleb!  Neither have his grandparents.....his gramma reminds me every time she calls.  "Ohhhh, I just pray every night that I live long enough to meet my little C.D."  C.D. is her name for him.  Caleb Daniel Reid....C.D.  I HATE HATE HATE it.  If she calls him that while we are there, I may just punch her in the throat .  So as of now it looks like we may be able to go but ya never know what's going to happen between then and now.  It takes a lot of money and we are thinking Daniel's case will be over by December some time which means he would get his bonus and if that all happens, we can definitely go.  So we are just waiting to see what happens!  I need a vacation!!  I haven't been on one since our honeymoon.....almost three years ago!  I'm going nuts!

Oh my.....

Well I guess it's been like six months so I better write.  This way when I get to scrapbooking the baby's scrapbook I have this to remember things that were happening.  Guess I should be better with it then, huh??

Well, Daniel is working as a private investigator now.  Actually he is doing that work plus he is the General Manager of the office for all of Ohio.  The boss is in AL at that office so he has a lot of responsibilities here.  Thankfully he is loving it.  The month of July was spent moving things out of the office and storage unit they had in Cleveland and moving everything into a smaller storage unit and into our home.  I am doing some of the secretary work for the company to.  There is still another secretary who reluctantly moved a few things into her home as well.  She is still doing the billing so I don't have that but I don't know how much longer she is going to be doing that.  I know she's looking for another job so I guess we will see what happens.  I'd like to punch her.  She was mad cause she had to take a few files into her home.  I live in a two bedroom trailor and everything is a mess still (you'll find out why).  I just have no room to put the things so slowly hopefully I can get this place put back together.

The last things from the office were moved out on the last day of the July.  The next day, August 1, Daniel rolled our one and only car!  He got thrown out of the sunroof (yeah the sunroof, don't ask me how) and landed in a ditch.  We found out later that that saved his life because the car actually came down on top of him and then scooted out onto the road.  He had run off the road and hit a culvert which flipped the car.  He had four parellel processors broken (little bones that come off your disks in your spine) and the orbital bone behind his eye was broken.  Nothing required surgery, just time to heal thank God.  He was in a lot of pain for a while but only spent one night in the hospital.  He got very very lucky.  We just went in this past Wednesday to an orthopedic doctor to make sure things were healing ok.  Things are ok but his arm seems to kinda have frozen.  He can use it but can only pick it up so far, so they are going to do an MRI of his shoulder to see what's going on.

After his accident, my parents left for two weeks for a business trip and as always, I was doing their business work along with starting to do the secretary work for Daniel's work plus take care of him and a baby!  Thank God his mom was in Boston at a convention the day of his accident.  The following day she was scheduled to go home via Detroit.  Somehow they got the airlines to let her stay there and Daniel's sister went to pick her up then.  She was here almost a month!  So she was very very awesome in helping out while Mom and Dad were gone.  Thank you so much!!!  I would have lost my mind if it wouldn't have been for her!

On August 22, we test drove a 99 Bravada that someone had for sale here in town.  We liked it and we explained to him that we want to cash it off, we just need to wait on the settlement check to come from the insurance.  Luckily, he was happy with a $500 down payment and was willing to wait on the rest.  He gave us the title so we could get plates for it and everything.

August 23, my grandma turned 80 years old!!  We had a birthday party for her at my aunt's house the following day.  Caleb, at the party, didn't seem to want to eat anything.  He would drink but he felt a little warm.  That night I put him to bed after I gave him some Tylenol, hoping that would cure whatever it was.  The next morning, he was not better at all.  In fact, he was worse!  His neck on the sides were actually swollen!  So I called his doctor and got in right away.  She looked in his throat and said she thought it was strep throat, unusual for a child his age but that's what she thought it was.  She gave me medicine for that and for his fever (then 101.3).  So I went to Wal-Mart, picked it up, and tried to give him some.  He would not swallow it, he would just hold it in his mouth and let it drool out.  He wouldn't even swallow his own spit, he drooled horribly.  That evening he was so hot with fever he actually got blotches on his skin from being so warm.  We took him to the ER and his temp was 104.1.  They tried to give him medicine right away which he threw up then.  So they gave him a Tylenol suppository.  They took chest x-rays and did blood work and swabed his mouth for strep (which was negative).  The blood work came back saying his white cell count was up, but they weren't worried about it.  The chest x-rays came back showing what they thought was maybe a bit of pnemonia, but they weren't worried about it.  He said he would call his doc to see if she wanted to change anything in his prescription.  He came back, and since by then his fever had dropped to 101 and he was walking around, he said we could just go home and we were to call her in the morning with news of how the night went.  I WAS TICKED!!!!!!!  There was obviously something very wrong and we got sent home?!?!

The next morning I called her.  His fever had spiked again but this time I did get him to swallow about half a dose of medicine. He woke up every half hour and sat there and would scream for a while then eventually go back down.  I talked to her for a long time and she said that she had actually told the ER doctor to admit him.  He told her that the fever had broke and he was walking around so he talked her in to changing her mind and sending us home.  She said she was still very worried about him.  She gave me her cell phone number and said to watch him during the day and if he doesn't get better to just take him to Akron Children's and not even mess around with Millersburg.  While still on the phone with her, I was holding him and he fell asleep.  While sleeping, he would take pauses in his breathing and then have to fight to get it going again.  He had to work so hard to breath.  So she said not to wait, to just take him to Akron.

Well we didn't have the plates for the car yet so we had to go in and get those.  Of course, Daniel forgot his driver's license so we couldn't pay the taxes and get plates, we just had to get thirty day tags.  Frustrating as crap and I told the lady she has to hurry!!  Before I left she said, "Don't drive to fast!"  While there waiting though, Mom calls and says she thinks his fever broke so we should call the doctor before going up there anyway.  I called her and she felt that we should still take him, even if we get there and his fever is down and I feel dumb for going, there is still something wrong that we can't keep it down.  So we went.

They again did chest x-rays (which showed NO PNEMONIA!) and blood work.  They didn't tell me his temperature but they said it was fine.  They almost immediately put an IV in him because he had eaten or drank anything.  When the blood work came back they said the white cell count is high and with him not eating or drinking, they were going to admit him and do more tests.  They took x-rays of his neck to to make sure there was not an absess in his tonsils, which there wasn't.  We ended up staying in the hospital from Tuesday until Sunday with him.  It turns out he has mono.  They don't hospitalized just for mono but he wasn't able to fight off an infection that had settled into his throat.  And then we had to battle to get him to eat and drink enough that they knew if they sent us home with him, we weren't going to end up back there again for dehydration.  He is doing ok now.  They said the mono can last several weeks or even months.  But as long as he eats, drinks, and his fever stays down he is ok to be at home.  THIS WAS NOT A FUN WEEK!!!!

So to yesterday.....we have had the car about three weeks cause the thirty day tags end I believe Wednesday.  Daniel got home from work yesterday morning and said something was wrong with the car.  Two days after we had it, we found out the hard way that the fuel gauge doesn't work (something that the previous owner failed to mention!!!).  Daniel was stuck in the middle of no where.  Thank goodness Mom was close and was able to go get him some gas.  So yesterday Daniel said as long as he drives on straight, level roads it's fine.  But going up hill it only goes 10 mph.  He wanted my brother to drive it to see if he thought it was the fuel filter.  So we drove it and the first mile, going up small hills was fine.  We got gas and got back on the road.  The first hill we got to, it started doing it.  He said it's the transmission.  Then I was ticked!  We haven't paid him the $2500 cause the insurance check isn't it yet so I was glad.  So we called him and first he said, "I had everything checked out."  Well obviously you didn't, liar!  So I decided, he screwed us, I was going to limp the car to the nearest dealer and trade it in.  Well we went to get back in the car and start it, and it wouldn't even start.  So we called him back and said we want our $500 back, you come and pick up your car.  Then he admitted that a few weeks before he sold it, he did change a spring in the transmission, something he again failed to mention. But he has another car and didn't want to take this one back.  So my  brother just flat out told him he IS going to give the money back and take it back cause he has to tell people this stuff.  A valuable lesson for this young man.  We found another car we like at a dealer, we're just waiting until tomorrow to see if we can get a loan for it.  I'm also thankful that Daniel forgot his license that day.  The title is still in this other guy's name, we didn't pay the taxes on it which saved us $200.  I just hope and pray this goes through tomorrow.  We have to have a car!!!

My back has been sore since the end of July when we moved all that stuff.  I've just pushed going to a chiropractor off and off cause of everything. And then two weeks ago, I was walking across our freshly painted back patio not realizing it was wet with dew, and went I went to step off, I fell flat on my ass! Well last week my stomach hurt so bad I could barely stand.  So I called my OB/GYN to move up my pap from October to this month cause of some problems I've been having.  They inform me that my doctor is no longer there, he moved out of state, and that I'd have to take the other doc in there.  I DON'T LIKE HIM!!!!  Luckily we had just found a family doc so I made an appointment with him.  He did a bunch of checking and he thinks it's a UTI.  He's not sure though so he gave me pills for an infection hoping that if it's not a UTI, whatever it is will be cured by this.  I went home that night and read in a magazine that if you wear heels and stand for three hours or more a day, it can cause your pelvic bone to tilt and rest on a nerve that allows the bladder to fully empty.  With this nerve pinched, it doesn't fully empty and can cause a UTI.  Well I don't wear heels and stand for three hours, but I knew with that fall and my pain from before, that my pelvic bone was probably out of place.  So I went to the chiropractor the next day and sure enough it was out!  Along with a lot of other things.  It was a lot of torture getting adjusted.  But, three days later, my stomach is feeling better.  Not completely gone but much better.  So hopefully that's all there was to it.  For a while I was really considered it was something more.  But he checked for cysts on my ovaries and everything and he said he couldn't feel anything.  I have to go see him again Wednesday.  He said if it's not better at all we'll have to do blood work and a CT scan of my belly but hopefully now that it's a little better we won't have to do that.

Well I think that's about it.  Like that isn't enough!

Sad day

Posted

Tomorrow my baby will be a year old.  It's sad how fast this year went.  It's totally fun to watch him grow.  To think of how he was when he was born, small and helpless, and to see all that he can do now is amazing.  He's about 25 pounds, he has 8 teeth, has had two haircuts, crawls like the wind, pulls himself up to walk along furniture, can stand on his own but only takes about two steps until he giggles and falls.  He says Dada and Mom. and Bubba (much to the dismay of Grandma he can't say granny yet!). He's ticklish on his inner thigh, under his arm, and the bottoms of his feet.  He loves Benji and likes to let him lick out his mouth (ew!)  He likes Sesame Street but only sits durning one of their tapes long enough to watch it.  He loves music and any toys that make any kind of melody.  He loves to dance and moan along!  Jesus Loves Me, Cheer Up, Sing What I Sing, We All Sing With The Same Song, and Old McDonald are among his favorites.  He loves his Hokie Pokie Elmo!  We were going to have his birthday party tonight, totally Sesame Street complete with an Elmo birthday cake but the weather is to bad.  We have pushed it off a week which makes me sad.  I got the cake canceled in time but I started preparing the food last night so there's a lot of food in the house!  It's just so hard to believe that it's been a year.  I'm sure the years don't slow down any either.  I'm glad I haven't worked this past year so I could see him grow the way he has.  Take time today to enjoy your children.  These are a precious few moments we have with them.

Well I can see I've kept this up well!  Last time I wrote, Caleb was having one tooth come through.  He has four now!!  His two front teeth both poked through on the same day!  The same day that he got his first cold to which he then gave to me and we are both still batteling!  Last Friday he started to pull himself up onto his feet when he's next to something.  That about breaks my heart!  I know this all has to happen but it's happening to fast!  My mom says I would complain if he just laid there like a new baby and didn't do anything, which is probably true.  It's fun to watch him grow, but he could slow down a bit!

Daniel has started working at the hospital in Millersburg.  He's doing security and he really seems to like it (Thank God!!).  When he applied for this job it was to work part-time so he kept a job in Canton that he'd gotten when he didn't have anything else.  When he got hired for this though, he wanted to keep Canton so he talked to them and they said they would work with his hours.  Well...as luck would have it, he was offered the full-time security spot at the hospital since they day they hired him for part time, the full time guy put in his notice!  Luck was finally on our side!  So Daniel did work both jobs, full time for a few weeks.  But every time he needed a certain day off to go to a meeting at work, that's the day that Canton would schedule him to work.  And they just didn't work with him at all on the hours and it just wasn't worth the gas money to get there any more.  Plus, going on like 4 and a half hours sleep sucks!  So he quit.  He has to call off two days in a row because of meetings at the hospital and he did but no one ever answered, he just left a message on the machine.  Wednesday and Thursday he had to call off.  Friday was his regular scheduled day off.  So he didn't go back until Saturday.  When he got there they had written him up because he has to talk to someone when he calls off, not just leave a message.  So his punishment was to be suspended for a day.....Friday...his regular day off!!!  Not to bright!  But he just decided that night to quit.  We can make it on what the hospital pays and I'm babysitting two days a week.  It's not much but every little bit helps!

I have new pics of Caleb I will try to get on here soon!

Dad's surgery has now been scheduled for tomorrow.  The are doing a surgery to release nerves that are pinch in his neck from the last surgery that he had.  He was supposed to have this surgery in June but he got an ear infection the week before so they couldn't do it.  So please just keep him in your prayers!

Well Daniel has a job!  WOO-HOO!!!  So that's a load off although now we're a month behind in bills but it'll be ok.
I'm thinking about taking some classes for Medical Transcription so we'll see what happens with that.  It would be extra money that would really help out and I can do it at home so I don' t have to leave the baby cause honestly, I don't think I could leave him somewhere and go to work every day!  I mean if I HAD to I would but as long as we can make it for now, I think I'd rather stay home!  We had an appointment on Tuesday for WIC>  Caleb weighs 20 pounds 12 ounces!!!  No wonder my back hurts!  I wouldn't trade him for the world though!  He's turning into a Mommy's baby and I couldn't be happier!!  I know it'll probably be inconvient at one time or another but I love it!

He's getting so big!!!

Last Monday, July 9th, was Daniel's birthday.  On Father's Day of 2006 we found out I was pregnant.  And now on Daniel's birthday, Caleb decides to roll over for the first time!  He does everything for his dad!!  What did I get on my birthday?  A crying baby.  What did I get for Mother's Day.....a poopy diaper!!  When I confronted Caleb about this he only had one thing to say.....HA! (No, really, he giggled a little bit!)  This time is going by to quickly.  It's hard to believe he's already four months old.  Where is the tiny baby I brought home from the hospital?????

Daniel got a job!  It's traveling with a security place though so he took off for Massachusetts and he just now called me to tell me he landed.  The only hard part about him having this kind of job is you never know how long or short it will be.  But at least it's something!!!

Haven't we been here before?

Well last Monday, a guy named Steve from the OSS office were Daniel is employed but is on a contract to a factory as a security guard for them called and said he is being transferred to a new factory and that for last week he wouldn't work but starting today he would be in the new place.  So for a week Daniel didn't work.  Today Steve was to call in the morning and let Daniel know where he is going.  Well he didn't call so at 10 Daniel called him.  He said he was on his way in to the office and to give him until 1 to get everything together and then he would call Daniel back.  Well he didn't call so at 1:30 Daniel called him.  Yeah, they let him go.  I listen on the phone with him and this guy stuttered and stuttered.......obviously making up a story as he went.  So yeah guess what.  Daniel is again not working!  But it's worse this time then it was before because I'm still on medical leave....I have at least a week and a half yet before I could even go back!  This is soooo bad!  He is calling around to all his fall backs and the temps he has been with to get ANYTHING.  He knows he has to.  Please please pray that something happens FAST!!!
